I recently read that a third of all children between around the ages of 2 and 6 have what researchers call an "intense interest" about something.
While the most common intense interest at that age is vehicles like cars and trucks (that was definitely my son), the second most common is dinosaurs.
Think about it: you probably know a kid (in my case, it was my nephew) who can rattle off names of tons of dinosaurs and can you you where they lived and what they ate.
