I recently decided that fruit is one of my favorite foods.
Not just because I enjoy eating it by myself, but more because of the fact that I think it majorly enhances almost any food:
- I love apples or dried fruit in salads.
- I like my turkey with plenty of cranberry sauce.
- I love bananas, apples, and/or dried fruit in my oatmeal.
- Pork, in my opinion must be eaten with applesauce.
- I even love pineapple on my pizza.
It makes perfect sense that I would create a roundup post of waffle recipes that are all made with fruit.
So, my fellow fruit-lover, enjoy discovering your new favorite waffle recipe!

Do you have a bowl in your kitchen full of over ripen bananas? These Banana Blueberry Waffles incorperates bananas into a basic waffle mix that tastes wonderful. These waffles are so easy to make anyone can do it. Ingredients: * All-purpose flour * Granulated sugar * Eggs * Buttermilk * Ripe banana * Vanilla extract * Fresh blueberries Not too heavy but not too light, these waffles balance the sweetness of banana with the spice of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. It’s a delicious waffle you’ll want to make again and again. Ingredients: * All-purpose flour * Baking powder * Cinnamon * Nutmeg * Ground ginger * Salt * Brown sugar * Bananas * Vegetable oil * Milk * Eggs * Vanilla extract If you like a waffle that's hearty, but not overly sweet, then these Banana Flax Waffles are for you. They taste great topped with peanut butter, syrup, yogurt or smashed berries. Ingredients: * Ripe banana * Eggs * Kefir (or milk of choice) * Oil * Ground flaxseed * Whole wheat flour * Cinnnamon * Baking powder * Optional mix-ins: Chocolate chips, blueberries, hemp seeds, chia seeds These Blackberry Waffles are filled with mashed blackberries for a sweet breakfast treat when you top them with whipped cream and fruit syrup. You can easily adjust the recipe to make them with raspberries or with strawberries. And they are really good with buttermilk syrup! Ingredients: * Flour * Sugar * Baking powder * Salt * Eggs * Almond milk (or milk of choice) * Coconut oil * Vanilla * Blackberries These Triple Berry Protein Oat Waffles are filled with hearty, filling ingredients, making them perfect for new moms as lactation waffles Ingredients: * All-purpose flour * Brewers yeast (optional, but add’s extra nutrients) * Baking powder * Ground cinnamon * Salt * Coconut sugar or maple sugar * Milk * Eggs * Coconut oil or butter * Vanilla extract * Mixed berries (I used frozen) or choice of fruit Here's a fun secret: You can use a waffle maker to make things other than waffles. This Blueberry Brioche Waffled French Toast is a delicious example of that. Even better: It's super-easy to make! Ingredients: * Toast of your choice (Brioche is recommended) * Egg * Milk * Cream cheese * Blueberries * Cinnamon sugar It’s nice to top waffles with maple syrup, but that seems a little basic. In addition to being made with mashed banana and a variety of spices, this gluten-free, vegan waffle recipe uses a Spiced Raspberry Compote for the topping. Ingredients: * Sugar * Baking powder * Baking soda * Salt * Cinnamon * Ground ginger, nutmeg, anise, and allspice * Ground cloves * Mashed banana * Almond milk * Frozen raspberries * Maple syrup * Lemon juice * Fresh raspberries and mint as garnish, optional These Overnight Banana Bread Yeast Waffles are the perfect breakfast mashup. They combines what we know as a waffle with something else entirely: the moist, dense sweetness of banana bread. Because the yeast needs time to help the dough to rise overnight, these make a perfect prep-ahead breakfast. Ingredients: * Butter * Milk * Vanilla extract * Flour * Brown sugar * Active dry yeast * Salt * Ground cinnamon * Ground ginger * Eggs * Sour cream or Greek yogurt * Ripe bananas * Cooking oil spray These fluffy Applesauce Waffles are moist and lightly sweet. With no added sugar, they’re a healthy breakfast option the whole family will love. If you like, you can substitute whole wheat flour for up to one cup of the all-purpose flour for a slightly grainier waffle. Ingredients: * Eggs * Flour * Baking powder * Cinnamon * Nutmeg * Salt * Applesauce * Milk * Vegetable Oil * Vanilla extractWaffle Recipes with Fruit
