If you love the comfort of lasagna but don't want to spend hours in the kitchen, you're going to love this Cheesy Ravioli Lasagna Bake. It's warm, cheesy, and layered with rich meat sauce and tender pasta-everything you want in a hearty dinner. Made with simple ingredients like frozen ravioli, ground beef, and mozzarella, it's a cozy, satisfying meal the whole family will devour.

This dish is a favorite all year round but especially comforting during fall and winter when you're craving something cozy. It's also a great pick for casual dinners, Sunday family meals, or anytime you need a reliable, satisfying main dish.

This recipe was inspired by my Lazy Crockpot Lasagna and pairs beautifully with my Tortellini Skewers with Pepperoni and Olives-a fun, flavorful appetizer that complements the bake perfectly.

Ingredients

Ravioli lasagna ingredients laid out on a surface, including frozen ravioli, ground beef, pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, and seasonings.
  • Frozen ravioli (cheese or meat-filled) adds the pasta layer without needing to pre-boil noodles.
  • Ground beef brings a rich, meaty flavor and makes the dish more filling.
  • Mozzarella cheese melts on top for a creamy, gooey finish.
  • Pasta sauce ties everything together with bold tomato flavor.
  • Italian seasoning adds that classic lasagna-style herb blend.
  • Garlic powder boosts the beef with a warm, savory taste.

See recipe card for quantities.

How to Make Cheesy Ravioli Lasagna Bake

Ground beef cooking in a skillet with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with Italian seasoning and garlic powder over medium heat. Break it up as it cooks. Once browned and no longer pink, drain the excess grease.

Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Hint: Let the casserole sit for 5-10 minutes before cutting so the layers can settle. If you like crispy cheese on top, uncover it for the last 5 minutes of baking.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free ravioli and check that your sauce and cheese are gluten-free.
  • Vegetarian: Swap out the ground beef for a plant-based crumble or sautéed mushrooms.
  • Low-Lactose: Use lactose-free cheese and dairy-free ravioli (vegan brands work well).
  • Halal: Make sure to use halal-certified ground beef and ravioli.
  • Hindu-Friendly: Replace the beef with a vegetarian protein like paneer, tofu, or mixed vegetables.
  • Deluxe Version: Add a layer of sautéed spinach or roasted zucchini for extra flavor and texture.
  • Kid-Friendly: Top with crushed crackers or a sprinkle of mini pepperoni to make it fun for little ones.

💭Crucial Success Tips

  • Don't thaw the ravioli-keep them frozen so they hold their shape during baking.
  • Cover with foil to keep the moisture in. If you like a golden cheesy top, remove the foil for the last few minutes.
  • For extra sauciness, add an additional ½ cup of pasta sauce between the layers.

FAQ

Can I use fresh ravioli instead of frozen?

Yes! Just reduce the baking time by 10-15 minutes since fresh pasta cooks faster.

What kind of ravioli should I use?

Cheese-filled and meat-filled both work well-just use your favorite.
