These free printable word search puzzles are a fun way to celebrate Groundhog Day with your kids.

One puzzle is pretty easy and the other is a little more challenging, so there's something for kids of all ages.
For each puzzle, there is both a color and black and white version. The black and white ones are nice for kids who'd like to do a little bit of coloring as well.
What is Groundhog Day?
(Other than a Bill Murray movie, of course ...)
Groundhog Day is a tradition observed in North America (both the United States and Canada) on February 2nd.
It's based on the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog come out of his burrow that morning, there will be six more weeks of winter.
If he doesn't see its shadow because of cloudiness, there will be early spring.
(Spoiler: studies haven't found any connection between the groundhog seeing its shadow and how soon spring-like weather arrives.)
The Groundhog Day ceremony is held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (go Steelers!), starring the semi-mythical groundhog Punxsutawney Phil.
