Hint: For extra flavor, marinate the salmon for up to an hour. The longer it sits in the teriyaki sauce, the more flavorful the fillets will be!
Substitutions & Variations
- Gluten-free: Use tamari or coconut aminos in place of soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
- Low-sugar: Replace the brown sugar and honey with a sugar-free sweetener like monk fruit or stevia.
- Vegetarian: Swap the salmon for tofu or a plant-based protein for a veggie-friendly version.
💭Crucial Success Tips
When air frying, brush the salmon with the reserved sauce in the last few minutes for that perfect caramelized glaze. It gives the salmon a sticky, flavorful finish that really makes the dish.
FAQ
Yes, just thaw them completely before marinating for best results.
Absolutely! Bake the salmon at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-18 minutes until cooked through.
Ideally, marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour for the best flavor, but even 15 minutes works if you're short on time.
How to Store Teriyaki Salmon Recipe
Store any leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For best results, reheat in the air fryer or oven to keep the texture. This dish doesn’t freeze well, as the glaze can become too watery when thawed.
