Benjamin, my youngest, turned ten this week. Definitely a milestone of sorts in being a parent to have everybody officially in the double-digits.
We had a party at the house, where his friends mostly ran around in the yard playing croquet, lawn darts, and water pistol tag. He got some pretty good gifts, including a magic set and some Lego sets. (I don’t know which ones; they all started blending together to me a long time ago.)
His older sister Rebecca made this Lord of the Rings cake with chocolate ganache:
So … the days of having little kids — or, really, even “young kids” are definitely gone around here.
