Getting a gift for someone based around their hobby or pet is a great way to solve the “What present do I get for someone who has everything” dilemma.
These 9 gifts for cat lovers are cute, fun, and surprisingly useful. Best of all, they’re personal, but don’t cost a fortune! Each of them have a list price under $10 at the time of this writing.
Whether you’re gift shopping for a teachers, co-worker, friend, or relative … if they’re crazy about their cat, they’re sure to be crazy about one of these gifts!
And since many people — whether you’re a cat lover or not — can’t resist a good funny cat video, I’ve interspersed a few short ones in with the gifts. Enjoy!
This is a great gift for your recipient to show off their love for cats right on their office desk. This kitty post-it note dispenser comes with one pack of post-it notes (although there is also an option to buy the dispenser only). It is refillable, but be aware that it only works with “accordion” style post-it notes, not the regular ones.
The dispenser is made out of heavy plastic, so it won’t get knocked over or moved around when you grab a post-it note. It’s not only functional, but a nice decorative piece for a desk or shelf as well.
If you’re looking for another option for an office gift under $10, or want a companion piece, this cat tape dispenser (which my daughter has in her bedroom) is equally adorable. Do note that the cat rocks back and forth as if it’s playing with the tape. Depending on how practical you are, this could be as either super-cute or mildly annoying.
The adult coloring book craze is huge right now, and this book entitled “Creative Cats” is one of the nicest I’ve seen, with very intricate designs that each has a separate theme. I own a copy myself, and like to color when I’m listening to podcasts. It’s an easy and relaxing way to be creative without too much thinking
How to Wrap a Cat for Christmas
I didn’t even know a product like this existed, but now that I do, I think it’s a pretty neat idea.
You know how when you go to a restaurant you have either have to stick your purse on the floor under your seat (which is gross) or somehow shove it into any extra seat space you have (which, if you’re like me and have a huge purse, can be a challenge)?
Well, this purse holder clips to the table, and then you can hang your purse (or backpack, or tote bag) from it so that it’s within your reach, but not in your way. It folds up compactly, so it’s easy to take with you anywhere, and it apparently holds a good amount of weight. Amazon reviewer Two Cents says, “My backpack has one three-subject notebook, one macbook pro, a planner, and several other miscellaneous supples (i.e. calculater, stapler, pens, pencils, etc.) and so it’s pretty hefty, but it seems to hold up pretty well.”
It comes in a total of seven different colors, which you can see here, so you can choose your favorite, or — if you’re very color-coodinated — get a few different ones to match your different purses. Personally, the purple one is my favorite.
This pencil set would make a great set for teachers, writers, or students, as they can never have enough pencils. These pencils come in four different colors (two of each color, for a total of eight pencils) and are decorated with either spots or stripes. They come already filled with lead.
Cat and Mouse Become Friends
This cute black cat charm is about the size of a nickel and is ideal for adding to a necklace, bracelet, cell phone, or zipper. It makes a great gift for kids and adults alike, and would work well not only for a cat lover, but also for someone who loves Halloween.
This set of cat sticky note bookmarks is currently the #1 best seller on Amazon in the “Bookmarks” category, and I can see why. It contains different eight designs with 30 sheets each (for a total of 240 sheets). One nice touch is that they are double-sided, so instead of the back being blank, it looks like the back of the cat’s head. Cute, huh?
This is a great gift for a student, teacher, or someone who reads a ton, especially if they’re the kind of person that likes to mark things and make notes in books and notebooks. In fact, I’m a musician and often use clips and sticky notes to mark my music … so this would make a great gift for musician cat owners as well!
Be aware that, although cute and useful, these aren’t super-big. Each one is about the length of an adult’s thumb.
Cat Jumping in Slow Motion
Isn’t this ring holder adorable? It’s constructed of cast-metal with a sparkling chrome-plated finish and stands just under three inches tall. Do note that the rings will touch whatever counter or dresser that you set the cat on (unlike in the photo, where the rings are magically suspened in air!)
This wine stopper has a little kitty head, complete with ears, that stick inside the bottle to stop it up. Depending on what kind of bottle it is, you can see the cat’s head when it’s inside.
The stopper has a tapered body, which is good for two reasons. First, it allows the stopper to fit into bottles of many different shapes and sizes. Second, is makes it easy to push the stopper in well enough to get a good seal. One reviewer even said that they stored a bottle sideways with this “kitty stopper,” and the wine stayed put just fine.
Of course, aside from it working very well as a wine stopper, it is completely adorable, makes a great gag gift, and will be sure to always give your guests a good laugh and maybe even start a conversation. It also makes a fantastic housewarming or hostess gift for your cat lover friends, as you can bring over a bottle of wine with the cat stopper inside!
Two Cats Ask for Food Ringing a Bell
This is the perfect for someone with not just cats, but lots of cats. It is four inches across and made of wood, with a slightly distressed design intended to give it a vintage look. The deep sides allow it to work as either a wall hanging or a decoration to sit on a flat surface like a desk, shelf, or mantle.
I hope one of these will be the perfect for the cat lover in your life to display their cat love with pride!
